Balmain S/S 2013

BALMAIN_SS _TRENDLAND

Mixing Cuba and ’90s. An interesting combination Olivier Rousteing followed for Balmain’s S/S collection, and spectacular nonetheless. Meticulous embellishment was once again in the spotlight -a permanent quality of the house- glams up the oh-so-beloved dynamic mini-dresses that were designed to resemble the Cuban bamboo chairs. Goal achieved. Besides that, talented Mr. Rousteing must ‘ve been strongly influenced by the golden era of Gianni Versace; leather high-waisted mini skirts and baggy pants, crop tops and crossed halter-necks and tile-floor black and white prints accompanying bold shoulder pads. A bit intense? Yes. Makes us love it any less? No.
