Concrete, wood, metal and glass interlock to create a powerful installation for a contemporary take on a 1919 avant-garde painting. Artist Axel Peemöller and design firm Design United were asked to create an artwork for an exhibition on Russian constructivist artist Gustav Klucis at the State Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki. The collaborative work resulted in a three-dimensional design that is based on the original painting of the same name. The different materials are interlocked, retaining their own texture and color to create a bold structure. The sculpture continues the exploration of the original work into the relationship between surfaces and space.
