Sometimes I think, should I ever be forced to choose one, and only one designer to live in for the rest of my life (a strange but quite engrossing thought), I might just choose Alexander Wang. And I shall tell you why: Wang’s ability to integrate a high fashion aesthetic into wearable and completely comfortable pieces, is a talent worthy of praise.
In his Pre-Fall 2014 collection, there were some clear winners as far as design elements go. The masculine shoes and structured outwear are what really took this showing home for me. But regardless of whether his sky high boots and androgynous athletic-hooded windbreakers fit your fancy, you’ve got to admit; Wang manages to make masculine, edgy, sport inspired street-wear look effortlessly cool and, seemingly paradoxically, feminine.
