wisdom’s 2016-2017 Autumn/Winter “Lazy Labor” collection is imbued with the spirit of a brand new label, with designs meant to invoke the idea of a brand trying to redefine the look of modern labor. The collection uses an understanding of current blue-collar designs re-interpreted by wisdom for use in contemporary fashion: a look that is easy-going (borderline lazy) but deceptively practical.
The whole collection is centered around a clean and concise look with a touch of minimalism, where for example the pockets and pouches of each item are crafted to seem hidden at first view, in order to let the traditional elements of classic work-wear, such as its contours and lines, become much simpler.
Furthermore the actual designs for this collection, complemented by a color palette that echoes the seasons with its saturated reds, blues, greens, and yellows, along with materials specifically produced in Taiwan allow the wearer a multitude of possibilities in terms of mixing, matching, and layering. All together this collection is a manifestation through fashion of what the designers have observed of contemporary life, and its synthesis of concept and craftsmanship is another step forward in defining the brand’s sense of modernity.
