Urban Cage Project

Day after day, technology is increasingly an extension of ourselves, of our own body. It’s our constant companion that allows us to fly to all parts of the world and to stay in touch with everything that’s happening. And for that reason, we must more and more think about how to incorporate it into the environment of our homes.

Yi-Ting Chen presents us a solution for that matter. The designer created a support in the shape of a typically oriental bird cage, where we imprison our iPod or iPad. The editorial is photographed by Chang Chieh and it even includes clothing designed by Roy Chang, extolling the roots of the project.

Many metaphors can be taken from this product by introducing subjects around the current technology paradigm and how it is affecting us and transforming our habits. However and not running away from the primordial theme, Yi-Ting Chen has created a stylish product in which we can display our gadgets, of which our birds will envy.
