Madrid born artist Antonio Santin now lives and works in NYC. Painter or carpet manufacturer, he’s probably both. By only using pen tools as weaving way for his embellished rugs, he creates incredible textures through hyperrealistic oil on canvas.
Each piece is at least two meters high and is composed by many juxtaposed thin strokes to render these floral handmade rugs. Giving an illusion of a hidden eerie body underneath the 2D surface, Antonio realized the feat of creating ‘figurative paintings without a figure’. Awesome!
