Jamie Wei Huang’s Light Space collection is centered on straightforward futuristic lines with added flair from Op Art experiments. Ignoring the boundaries between Art and Fashion, Huang studies the geometrics elements from Optical Art to create a collection that affects the perception of the viewer. Using sculptural-like techniques to produce pieces that are based on illusionary and experimental effects, finally grounding the collection with traditional materials and fabrics.
Silk is the principal fabric used in the collection, as complements the designer uses glass and ceramics in small doses to add additional color and texture. Showcasing varying shades of white, red, orange and blue as the main color palette; thus avoiding major variations and maintaining a concise unity to permit the sharp cuttings and angles room to breathe.
