Giorgia Zanellato’s Top Cherry sculpture reimagines the humble fruit display. A project that she worked on at Fabrica, Benetton’s Research Center in Italy, the Miami deco-inspired glass set comprises four self standing elements, each with conical vessels to contain fruits.
While the top half is exposed, showing the skin of an apple, pineapple or the titular cherry on top, the bottom reveals their inner flesh. “In this way the fruits show their contrasting textures of outside and inside, giving color to the transparent glass,” the industrial designer says.
