Bratislava-based photographer Maria Svarbova explores medical installations and its inhabitants with a subtle and whimsical pattern to all interactions; The Doctor series is intriguing but hostility-free.
Pastel colors bathe the hospital showcased by Maria, while she studies the protocol outside and inside the doctor’s office: medical guidelines to prepare for the next patient, endless waiting on the halls, visiting someone beloved… Every transition between each exchange is given proper and careful attention.
Numerous photo editorials sport the customary static and doll-like models, it fits like a glove in the sterile and fragile world Svarbova created; if even a needle is moved it could all break apart.
