Studio 5.5 Puts the Life Back in Rejected Furniture

studeio reanim project

French designers 5.5 are using their creativity to increase the life expectancy of rejected furniture. As part of the Réanim (reanimate) project, the designers become doctors and their workshop a hospital for rescued items that are found in dumps, streets and people’s homes. Crutches and bandages are both legit items in the recovery process, with bright green used throughout as a reference to the garbage trucks in France.

The idea isn’t to present transformed furniture as limited editions or design masterpieces but, judging by the results, the cool factor is definitely intact.
