WAY2 whiskey bar in Hangzhou, just 2-hours away from Shanghai, is a futuristic gem by the river Qiantang.
Designed by PIG Design, the enigmatic entrance to the bar leads through a layered aluminum entrance, with side paths lined with black gravel and mirrors. The welcome experience was conceived to resemble a reverent yet quite private ceremony – a tail of ceiling lamps and a brass gold installation in the middle of the corridor invite the guests to pass through a minimalist environment to an elegant lounge. Here, shades of dark navy, grey and gold reign. An elongated bar, a stage with heavy curtains and a glass wall light are 3 separate center points inside the space. From engaging into a private conversation to immersing into live music performances, the visitors can succumb to the luxurious yet low-key atmosphere of WAY2.
Location: Jiangnan Art Park, 415 Chengye Lu (Changhe)
