People love to look at minimalist homes but are wary of actually living in one. The Danish design company Menu finds pieces that, while simple, imbibe some sense of warmth. Since last year, Norm Architects‘ Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen and Kasper Rønn have acted as design managers, keeping their eye out for clever items from established designers like Gamfratesi (Denmark-Italy), Cecilie Manz (Denmark), Andres Engesvik (Norway) as well as new international talent.
“We call it soft minimalism, where geometrical purity, uncomplicated naturalness and a sense of cool and calm are the key players,” says the brand’s literature. “We bridge the masculine and the feminine.”
