Rolando Robinson’s Follicle Girl Illustrations

Artist Roland Robinson was sketching around with this style of illustration in his Moleskin for awhile before he came up with the concept of creating Follicle Girl collections. Originally the girls had no bodies but he eventually decided to give them bodies and create origami wardrobes for them.

This is a perfect example of why I love to look at people’s sketchbooks. There are always so many subconscious developments waiting to burst from the pages of sketchbooks and more than often, artists do not even realize the potential of their doodle.
