Mathias Hahn must be great at playing connect the dots. The lines he uses to fuse products together, the way each one relates to an everyday problem, the tiny descender that links the “m” and “h” in his typographic logo.
It’s like Mathias is nonchalantly saying that everything is tied together. Describing his process, the German-born, London-based product designer “pictures his work as having two sides”: the problem-solving and the playful. “Depending on the project, these two aspects come together and form useful commodities that show a slight layer of humor, social context, or even naivete.”
This is something seen in his products, which come off minimal and linear at a glance, yet still give a cozy, snuggly feel that you know won’t overpower a place.
