One of the many reasons why we love Marc Jacobs is his ability to produce versatile pieces, accented with stylish details, colors and accessories which amplify bigger trends of the season. For his Men’s S/S 2013 collection, which recently debuted in Milan, Jacobs incorporated laid back styles and mad men tailoring to create a masterful blend of sophistication as well as fun.
The first few looks remained relatively neutral but consisted of slick suits and clean cut khaki trench coats, all perfectly styled with patterned oxford shoes, which gave an unexpected kick to each look. Light weight fedora hats heavily influenced the collections overall look which could be best described as ‘Rum Diary chic’ meets ‘Upscale Hipster’… at a cocktail party. In addition to the prominent accessories, pops of patterns such as dark floral and bright striped head to toe looks were sprawled throughout the entire collection. With the perfect mix of funky and contemporary elements, this Marc Jacobs collection is bound to be a hit with Businessmen and Brooklyn boys alike.
