Living in the wild at Palomba House [Chile]

The stand-alone house located in the rural commune of Lampa opens towards nature while retaining the qualities of a private and intimate property. Constructed by abarca+palma with a mix of wood, steel and glass, the first floor serves as a communal space consisting of two courtyards, a kitchen and a living & dining rooms set in one line.

That allows to harmoniously move between the spaces. Upstairs, a more private feel takes over the house. The bedroom features a skylight window over a bathtub and the entire room is connected with two terraces offering different views of the surrounding hills. This subtle interference of nature reflects how architecture can serve its practical purposes while also bring the human back to his roots.
