K.Z.O Spring 09 ” Manzanar “

Yesterday we spoke about Brett Westfalls and CDG, Id like to take that thought and build a bridge to another designer we really respect and admire. Joel K. designer of KaZuO, an L.A. based, Japanese produced and inspired brand, has also collaborated with Brett for the Fall 08 collection on a layered Flannel look.

Jumping ahead I would also like to give you a preview of the SS09 presentation. Joel’s multimedia background always come into play when its time to introduce a new collection. For Spring/Summer 09 Joel traveled to Manzanar, most widely known as the site of one of ten camps where over 110,000 Japanese Americans were imprisoned during World War II. Located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada in California’s Owens Valley between the towns of Lone Pine to the south and Independence to the north, it is approximately 230 miles (370 km) northeast of Los Angeles. There he shot is look book and a captivating video that sets the mood for his upcoming work. i love the moody and subtle expression of the entire production.

And make sure not to miss the video
