Joseph Guerra is a recent RISD graduate whose design ambition is useful, mass market objects that express simplicity and beauty. The briefcase, a subject of his senior thesis, has been re-imagined here, referencing generic shopping baskets in the pattern and polypropylene material. As an archetype with connotations of luxury and gentrification, we see a new definition of significance, as this briefcase would be great from the boardroom to the beach. Guerra named the finished product the Oaxaca case in a nod to his Mexican heritage. Loving the results.
