Ikko Tanaka’s Second Collection for Issey Miyake

For the second time Ikko Tanaka‘s famous graphic design studio collaborated with Issey Miyake on this gorgeous new collection. Ikko Tanaka and Issey Miyake met in the 1960s and maintained a deep connection and enduring friendship. It is with respect to Tanaka’s works and a gratitude to subsequent ideas that led to the birth of this series. Created on their famous Please Pleats, the brand got inspired by Tanaka’s ‘Faces’ and ‘Bokugi’, a new approach to traditional writing. The heart of this collection is to celebrate the joy of doing things together, explains the brand. What appears here is authentic Japanese beauty showing strength without pretense.
