Traditional Chinese medicine with a twist inspired the interior of Aqua Health Clinic in Beijing. In the reception, the visitors come across a see through desk filled with moss and dried plants, corresponding with green-tinted timber floors.
To create a sense of diving underwater, the architects from Waterfrom Design picked crystal blue as a leading shade for the space. Achieved with the help of colored glass and tiles, classic medicine cabinets were constructed as transparent boxes. A variety of traditional Chinese medicinal plants were preserved in the glass rids including angelica and peony – a nod to local healing traditions. With all treatments perceived as a ritual of sorts, place’s architecture was imagined as a canvas for a beautiful artistic performance.
