Sometimes as human beings we need to remember, then return, to what is truly important. With art, I feel that this sentiment is equally valid. Italian-born Giosetta Fioroni, an artist’s artist, and a woman’s woman, hand renders delicate, simple, feminine drawings and subtle but stunning paintings on canvas. Her style is dramatic and chic despite its simplicity and with the sometimes overzealous advances of 2013 contemporary art, Fioroni’s work is just the change of pace we need to appreciate art in its most basic and beautiful moments. For our New York readers, a well-curated selection of some of her finest work will be showing at The Drawing Center in New York City’s Soho from April 5 – June 7, 2013. Enjoy!
