With a minimalist, child-like innocence UK-based artist Frances Hogg creates visually arresting collages, drawings, prints and abstract paintings. Her latest collages blur the boundaries between these various mediums.
Hogg shares that; “Pattern and decoration has always been criticized for having more of an everyday domestic function and it being based purely on aesthetics”. Subsequently, her work is an exploration of the relationship between decorative, design and painting. Each piece is born from the dialogue between certain bold lines, vibrant colors and abstract forms; it is as if each piece is dancing freely in a gestural instinctive way!
