There’s about three times a year that incite horror: Spring Fashion Week, Fall Fashion Week and Halloween. Illustrator David Murray has merged the latter two into a haunting, yet comical, series of drawings depicting infamous horror characters in prominent Fall 2014 collections.

These contrasting subjects may provoke a “fashion is murder” type of conclusion, but what’s truly on display here is Murray’s killer sense of style. The nightmarish models play a supporting role to the finery captured by Murray, whose technical finesse can be attributed to his day job as a designer for Shipley & Halmos.
Through pointillism and humorous composition, Murray seamlessly pairs the murderers in their corresponding attire. Freddy Kruger sports Junya Watanabe in a way that’s more “streetwear” than “Elm Street;” Leatherface coordinates his namesake accessory with a Rick Owens ensemble; And Pennywise wears Moschino in a way that would make Jeremy Scott proud.
