I found Stefania Tejada‘s work thanks to her incredible collaboration with PORTA + CANDA, a Mexican brand that seeks to simplify the way luxury bags are used by creating timeless designs and structured silhouettes.
Stefania explores and studies the female spirit, an immersion within the concept of identity and her personal evolution as a human where fashion and nature unite. She is in constant search of capturing her subjects when they feel most vulnerable or most powerful.
Her subjects connect returning the gaze, establishing a relationship and allowing the viewers to question themselves about the role of women in today’s society, allowing them to see the trace of the past and the present; to see what’s hidden behind the eyes.
The strong personalities and the vibrant colors come from her Latin American origins (she is Colombian), showcasing the complexity and mystery of her cultural background.
Her work aims to reflect today’s changing culture, where women are confronting the world, wanting to be heard and seen, not as an immediate sight, but as experience and a promise of change for future generations.
Her clients include Adidas, Facebook, Tumblr, Urban Decay Cosmetics, The United State of Women, Silvia Tcherassi and Atelier Crump, among others.
