Pastel Gradients and Abstract Shapes Meet in Bernabeifreeman’s Rug Collection

What started with taking aerial views of landscapes ended up to inspire an abstract rug collection. Australian design studio bernabeifreeman has designed a unique series of carpets for Designer Rugs where colors, patterns and textures were taken from nature and juxtaposed with the latest design trends.

Washed, paste-like gradients and geometrical shapes dominate in the collection where each rug bears its distinctive name – Ocean, Spring or Crossing – just to mention a few.

In an interview for Yellowtrace, bernabeifreeman’s co-founder, Rina Bernabei, explained: “[The rug designs] are all abstracts of landscapes, where we have taken it upon ourselves to formalise the graphic elements.”
