El palmar, is a summer house project designed by architect David Cervera, located in the port of Chuburna, Yucatan Mexico. A very small project developed by Cervera and his team on a 90 square meter plot with only a bedroom, kitchen, living area, bathroom and swimming pool, a simple scheme separated by three main intersecting spaces, all with their own terraces.
All the materials used are from the region, the finish on the walls is Chukum (a finish made with the roots of a tree called Chukum), a waterproof material that does not wear paint. The floors are white polished concrete combined with local mosaics.
A gorgeous Mexican retreat mixed with simplistic living. Love it!
