F/Ms studio is interested in sculptural objects and conceptual design that meticulously merge indoors and out, raw and polished, high quality and industrial design. The studio’s Drift mirror series is no different, juxtaposing polished elements against surfaces that are less controlled. Artist Fernando Mastrangelo, creator of F/Ms studio, will exhibit the collection at the iconic Rossana Orlandi gallery in Milan starting April 12th. These mirrors are inspired from two particular landscapes, the Patagonia region in South America and The Grand Canyon. Drawing from the soft colors found in these locations as well as the sediment layering from The Grand Canyon, the mirrors reflect the natural beauty through the materials they are made from. The pieces use hand-dyed sand, powdered glass, mirror and cement to create a breath taking sculpture inspired by glaciers and natural earth formations.
