London based photographer Chloe Newman focuses on themes of uncertainty and uncanny in her visually striking and stylized photographs. Newman creates bizarre scenes of conflict and contradiction to evoke a mixture of emotions in viewers. Her photo series Visual Conflicts, Something Wrong, and Blank Tropicana, a collaboration with photographer Rebecca Scheinberg, contain chilling images of distorted people and odd juxtapositions of objects. Though Newman’s photographs are brightly colorized and cleanly composed, they leave viewers feeling unsettled and confused, yet intrigued and curious.
