Carlos Ayesta & Guillaume Bression’s Surreal Journey to Fukushima

Carlos Ayesta and Guillaume Bression Fukushima

French photographers Carlos Ayesta and Guillaume Bression explore the 2011 Japan Tsunami and its aftermath, in particular the devastating nuclear disaster at Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant, in their new series of surrealistic photographs. Having traveled to Japan to tour the devastation, they braved the off-limits areas, dead zones in which the nuclear accident is most palpable. Using props like bubbles and films, the duo dramatized the scene even further, symbolizing the profound contamination of the area, and urging us to take notice.
