Carapicuiba House, Brazil

What do you do when you are required to design a house when the site includes an abrupt 6m fall? Just ask Brazilian architects Angelo Bucci and Alvaro Putoni. Together, they successfully overcame the unusual topography to design Carapicuiba House with a name that describes the location of the building in Carapicuiba, Brazil.

The architects explain; “the house is divided into two levels, both below the street level. Its spaces are integrated with the woods, valley, gardens, and pool located at the ground level.” Spectacular panoramic views are facilitated by the integration of large glass sliding panels. Living in this stately house would be reminiscent to residing in a modern day tree house – a dream residence.
