Back to The Past With Alexey Kondakov

Thanks to his very accurate photoshop skills, Ukrainian artist Alexey Kondakov allows Caravaggio and Bouguereau’s muses and angels – (just to name a few) to be seamlessly integrated with daily life surroundings in Kiev and Naples.

Thus, in his ‘Art history in contemporary life’ and ‘The daily life of gods‘ series, we can see young classic figures heckle at the bottom of a bus, two apathetic women get bored in a dusty book store, while a men is still unconscious on the porch of a grocery store. Through subtle light fluctuations, Alexey creates a new artistic movement that blur the border between academic art and postmodernism.
