ANNDRA NEEN SS scaled

Anndra Neen S/S 2013

This season’s collection was inspired by 1930’s and 1940’s cinema and the classic fashion of the time. Busby Berkley and dance films set the tone for a beautiful, chic event.  Sisters Annette and Phoebe Stephens, creators and designers, stepped out of their box this time, using live models for the first time.  Shown at Milk Studios, they brilliantly created a mood of serenity and intrigue with the nude and white color palette,  clean hair and make up, all of it meticulously combined to showcase S/S 13. I have to mention the clothing, the models all wore the same piece, a cross between a jumpsuit and a caftan, so gorgeous, comfortable and incredibly elegant,  I wanted one as soon as I saw them. (Designed by Australian brand Tome, who are soon launching in the US, I can’t wait to see the rest of the collection). All of the jewelry and accessories are hand made in Mexico, bold, geometric, the girls are very clear and  focused with their aesthetic. When you see an Anndra Neen piece it is immediately identifiable as such; always inspired by art and architecture, always statement, always different from any other brand out there. Most definitely a brand to look forward to and keep both eyes on.
