Anna Pogossova’s Iceland Series

Iceland, in all its natural splendor, not only happens to be one of the most geologically interesting places on Earth, but is a hotbed for creativity as well. The perfect place for any creative person to get inspired, the country boasts a number impressive residency programs for artists in all different disciplines. Anna Pogossova, one of Trendland’s favorite new photography talents, did just that and the results were too good not to share. She says, “what impacted my work the most, was the way in which the landscape, and its tones, and all other elements – natural and man made – just fit so beautifully together; the weather, the light, the rooftops, and even the road markings.” The Australian-based photographer brilliantly captured the muted colors, horizons, and austerity of the Land of Fire and Ice in this series. “There was also something very peaceful and beautiful about its emptiness and remoteness. A lot of these elements informed my photographic work since, even the still life.”
