The paintings by the Amsterdam-based Scottish artist Daniel Mullen can almost be mistaken for digital art.
Daniel’s hyper-realistic artwork makes you believe you’re observing an art installation by James Turrell. Just like James, Daniel creates abstract architectural works that confuse the viewer with all sorts of optical illusions. Once you are looking closer at the paintings you can see hard-edge painted lines that are creating depth in his work, in combination with glazed layers. I am looking forward to seeing more of Daniel’s lucid dreams, aren’t you?
