Oh we love a good conversion! And here, we have a stunning Milan loft, formerly an auto garage which was renovated by local architect Tommaso Fantoni of TomoArchitects into a trendy home with architectural details reflecting his client’s hobby for sailing. Ceilings were refitted with larch wood, floorboards with wide oak planks like those used for sailing boats, and the staircase carries a distinct propeller look.
Keeping the original exposed brick, the home also features numerous archways throughout and the most impressive ones soaring over the sunken living room area. From furniture to lighting to doorknobs, no detail was too small for Fantoni’s attention, resulting in a space that is intimate instead of intimidating.
