A Few Good Things is a selection of work by 10 Norwegian designers—both emerging and established that will be presented at Wanted Design on May 13–16 2016, during NYC x DESIGN, New York City’s celebration of global design. These new designs from Norway are curated by Metropolis magazine’s editorial director Paul Makovsky and produced by the Norwegian Centre for Design and Architecture (DOGA) in partnership with the Norwegian Consulate General in New York and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At a time when all have too much stuff, we need to rethink our approach to design. We talk about ‘peak oil’, ‘peak meat’, and recently Steve Howard, head of the sustainability unit at IKEA talked about ‘peak furniture’. In short: our everyday lives are overcrowded with ‘things’.
