After the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, women are banned to sing publicly as soloists, at least in front of men. No Land’s Song is a documentary that presents the quest to revive solo female voice in Tehran.
The documentary is depicting composer Sara Najafi’s battle along with other female Iranian artists for their right to be able to sing freely, express themselves freely in an equal manner. In order to support their battle against censorship and taboos Sara and her friends invite three French female singers and 2 male instrumental musicians It’s a great collaboration on a musical project that reopens the bridge between Europe and Iran.
