Joseph Lee is the LA-based, self-taught painter who studies human faces and inhibiting feelings.
Working with expressive brushstrokes and bold colors, Lee aims to examine inner processes that allow to strike emotional balance in the surrounding reality. Abstract and intense in form, his portraits diminish the role of our body – eyes, ears or mouth – proving that the real source of honest expression finds its origins in the mind.
