Patricia Urquiola’s design studio creates exquisitely graphic furniture with unusual concepts. The ‘Visioni’ carpet from CC Tapis resembles a 3D structure thanks to asymmetry and bold use of color. The ‘Credenza’ cupboard made with stained glass evokes inspiration by the windows of holy sights, while the ‘Gender’ armchair is a question over identity.
Urquiola, who opened her studio in 2001 in Milan and has become known for colorful projects such as Room Mate Hotel Giulia, envisions furniture as artistic objects, but also tools for discussion.
