Another Omakase restaurant recently opened its doors in Shanghai this time. Located in the foodies well known ‘Xuhui District’, the virtual labyrinth / Japanese restaurant was recently completed by Shanghai HiPop Architectural studio. A great blend between tradition and innovation where both comes together in a building dating back from the last century.
The important detail of this Omakase, are the walls dividing the main space into small intimate rooms, built with more modern materials such as neon-glass panels decorated with cherry blossoms and dew drops, creating a surreal, ethereal and virtual labyrinth.
Omakase style restaurants are basically “The choice of the chef” that day, and the menu is totally random based on the chef preparation.
