In the mood for some fresh churned ice cream? Then you’ll have two reasons to check out this year’s UK and International Restaurant & Bar Design Awards winner Rocambolesc in Spain.
Architects, interior designers, lighting designers, and international representatives of hospitality design, gathered the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards Ceremony, in London to announce the winners of this year’s awards. More than 670 projects from 60 countries were presented but the Best European Baraward was given to Sandra Tarruella and Ricard Trenchs for the interior design of Rocambolesc.
Sandra Tarruella Interioristas – who also designed the Celler de Can Roca in Girona and the ROCA Moo restaurant in Barcelona – completed the design for Jordi Roca’s Rocambolesc in 2012. The ice cream parlour, located in the center of Girona, employs the fantastical and magical elements of Tim Burton’s film ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ while also maintaining a modern and minimalistic feel.
