“Muk Bang” is a tribute to the Korean movement, muk bang, in which a person eats massive quantities of food while being broadcasted via webcam. NY based filmmakers Tn’T (Tarik Malak & Timothy Douglas), in collaboration with Vogue Korea and supermodel Jessica Stam, wanted to take the first “haute couture” spin on this digital phenomenon. The film is also a tongue-in-cheek homage to the glorious days of “porno chic” fashion photography, as well as low-fi internet graphic design, and a genuine love letter to modern Internet culture and Korean food.
TN’T is known for their highly conceptual and technical films and innovative interactive films for brands such as Hermés, Juicy Couture, Nike, MCM, and many more. The ‘Muk Bang’ short has just recently been screened at the prestigious Berlin Fashion Film Festival – won Best Use of Music and nominated for Best Editing, Best Casting, and Best Original Music.
