“Edible Earth” Series by Katie Fotis

Rocks aren’t usually appetizing, but the crystals in these still life works by Katie Fotis look just good enough to eat. Blending the trends of still life and food photography with unique, surreal compositions, Fotis has featured beautiful natural gems and minerals as if they were food, from cake to cheeses. The series also juxtaposes commercial items, like a foam take-out box, with the rawness of the crystals, creating an interesting visual image.
