British photographer David Parker investigates contemporary landscape through the medium of large-scale, black and white photography. Mostly known for his Siren series: long exposure shots of random islands and rocks in the middle of nowhere. Parker’s landscapes photography are pretty dreamy to me. Conceptually, the work demonstrates contemporary art’s vital ability to affirm our physical and metaphysical interactions with the world around us. Trained as both an engineer and a commercial illustrator, Parker photographs with custom-built panoramic cameras and processing equipment
He has enjoyed exhibitions in London and Zurich, and his work is included in many collections including Citibank, N.M. Rothschild and Sons, Goldman Sachs and the Syz Collection Geneva.
His monograph, The Phenomenal World (Edition 7L, 2001), was winner of a Best Landscape Book. David Parker resides and works in England
