Art From Code

Generative art is art that has been created from an algorithmic process through the use of mathematics, computers, mechanics, or similar methods of emergence.   Code writer Keith Powers writes codes in a few different languages, whenever his coding creates something he deems interesting he put is up on his site “Art From Code”.

These renderings are of “random lissajous webs”.  A Lissajous curve is the graph of the system of parametric equations which describes complex harmonic motion.  It is basically two sinusoid inputs whose form can be modified by their amplitude and frequency.  Keith’s coding shows how simple mathematics can be beautiful.
