Continuing with our coverage of the 2013 Restaurant & Bar Design Award winners, today we take a look at what would be my favorite category, Restaurant or Pub in a Retail Space. The Corner, located within Selfridges on the corner of Oxford Street and Orchard Street, was designed by London-based Stiff + Trevillion in close collaboration with the department store. According to the firm, Selfridges looked to create a “restaurant that would be comfortable for their female customers”, as it is located within the bespoke Womenswear department. Flute oak panelling and patinated brass feature as primary materials in the interior design, with a centerpiece calacato oro marble champagne bar. Oak tables and denim-like fabric chairs round out the effortless ease of a very chic and stylish restaurant.
