Stephanie Gonot’s Still Life’s

What we are not supposed to do, Stephanie Gonot captures with her camera. In “edibles” there are cigarettes put out in pastel colored cupcakes, pins stuck into hotdog buns, ice cream cones smooched cold/ cream side onto a women’s breasts, melting ice cream mountains with cactus accents. In “fad diet” we see the obsessive, humorous and naïve side of humans. In it she depicts the model’s diet of diet cola, and cigarettes, the OCD meal of same color foods, baby food three course meal, the master cleanser, and the muscle building regiment. One may remember a child/teen like sense of abandonment and experimentation with food, and everyday items.
