If you like the look of kinetic sculptures, Seattle-based Ladies & Gentlemen Design Studio makes home furnishings with the same energy. To wit: the tinted refractions bouncing off their mirrored Mirage shelves and tables, the stacked beadsof copper, maple and acrylic in their pendant lights, the swaying blocks of color on their chimes, and necklaces that look like mobiles.
But where they shine the most is their unassumingly automated collection of lamps: glowing orbs, which dimmed and brightened when we stroked a mounted marble ball on its marble pedestal. Hands down one of our favorite “aha” moments at the Sight Unseen Offsite show at NYC Design Week.
