Since 1999, Metronomy has had hits and haven’t missed. The UK-lovin’ foursome paid homage to their homeland by releasing their new album, The English Riviera in the UK only this spring forcing those abroad in the US and elsewhere to wait until July 26th. I suppose they predicted poor UK weather this summer and gifted their Brit countrymen with a little synth-laden summer groove to imagine heat waves and bikini babes to.

As of last week, The English Riviera has been nominated for the 2011 Barclaycard Mercury Prize ‘Album of the Year.’ Their first single of the LP is “The Bay,” which praises Tor Bay of Torquay, Devon–a leisure pursuit of none other than the English Riviera. Lyrically pleasing to anyone poolside or otherwise, in tenor vocals lead singer and mastermind, Joseph Mount sings, “It feels so good in the Bay!”

Because this isn’t Paris

And this isn’t London

And it’s not Berlin

And it’s not Hong Kong

Not Tokyo

It’s “The Bay” and it makes you feel so good. Check out the official video below:
