Baked Table by Andere Monjo

Its not the first time we are reviewing edible dishes, and it is not a new concept, as anyone who has eaten out of a bread bowl can attest to, but this home made bread installation by Andere Monjo for the London Design Festival (2010) is a pretty original concept. ‘Baked Table’ is presented as a dinner wear set (including plates, bowls, cutlery pieces and textiles), conceiving baking bread as an early traditional craft.

The use of water and flour as basic materials/ingredients mixed with a variety of seeds, arranged as ceramics or embroidery details, brings to the table a tempting tactile quality that tastefully complements any meal.
